If you are evaluating Apollo.io, the useful comparison is not a feature list — it is what you can verify. Below: the questions worth asking any data vendor, next to what we do, with numbers you can check on this site.
| Criterion | Ask Apollo.io | What BatScout does |
|---|---|---|
| Verified emails | Are addresses verified (MX or SMTP), or pattern-guessed? Ask for the verification method in writing. | Every address was found publicly and checked — MX records, SMTP where the mailbox answered. No pattern-guessing. |
| Coverage by industry | Ask what they hold in YOUR niche, not in total. Totals hide empty verticals. | Counts are published per industry and country on this site and update as we collect. |
| Phone numbers | How many records actually carry a phone, and how fresh are they? | Collected where they are public; we show how many records carry them instead of promising a number. |
| Influencer / creator data | Do they have creators and niche influencers, or only company contacts? | Separate influencer base with niche creators, not just companies. |
| Manufacturers & suppliers | Can you pull suppliers and manufacturers, or only buyers? | Separate supplier base alongside the company index. |
| Free test | Can you see real records before you pay, without a sales call? | A real test search with real records, no signup and no card. |
| Export formats | CSV, XLSX, JSON — and how many rows per export? | PDF, XLSX, CSV and JSON from the same result set. |
| Compliance | Opt-outs, suppression lists, GDPR/CAN-SPAM handling. | Suppression list and opt-out links on every outreach email we send. |
We do not publish claims about Apollo.io's pricing, coverage or data quality — we have not audited them. The middle column is a checklist for your own evaluation; the right column is ours, and you can verify it with a free test.
